Where will snow fall in Ireland? Forecasts disagree as to where will be hit
Ireland is set for freezing temperatures and wintry showers but leading forecasts still disagree as to where snow could fall on Thursday.
Weather Alerts Ireland posted the ECMWF and GFS morning model for snow depths for Ireland for Thursday and there is a huge difference between the two.
According to the ECMWF model, heavy snow is expected across a large section of the country with Laois, Tipperary and Wicklow set to have significant accumulations.

However the GFS model forecasts snow in eastern and northern areas with the rest of the country remaining almost snow free.

Weather Alerts Ireland highlighted the disparity between the models but did emphasise that it is certainly going to get much colder as the week progresses.
