Man in the Midlands allegedly caused over €5,000 of damage to parking metre

A defendant accused of causing €5,747 worth of damage to a parking metre will return before Judge Bernadette Owens at Longford District Court to progress matters.

Mark Kelly (36) of Camlin Mews, Longford was facing four charges. The defendant is accused of, on date unknown at Crossan Electric car park in Longford town, damaging a parking metre to the value of €5,747.

The other charges are the theft of €64 worth of perfume from Lloyds Pharmacy on April 12, 2023, the theft of cosmetics to the value of €180 from Dunnes Stores on March 28 last, and the theft of €20 worth of coins from the Taipan restaurant on March 25, 2023.

Judge Owens accepted jurisdiction on the matter, then adjourned the case to May 2 for plea or election by the defendant.
