Offaly GAA managers appointed as committee set up to seek U20 and minor football bosses

Mark Plunkett was thanked for his commitment to Offaly GAA over a long number of years

A NUMBER of Offaly GAA inter-county managers were officially appointed at a meeting of the County Board on Tuesday evening.

Senior hurling manager Johnny Kelly; senior football managers, Declan Kelly and Mickey Harte; U20 hurling manager Leo O'Connor and minor hurling boss Brian Carroll were all returned for another year.

Chairman Tom Parlon announced that it has been decided to seek new U20 football management and he thanked the outgoing manager Mark Plunkett for his commitment to Offaly over a long number of years.

He also revealed that Roger Ryan has ended his term as Offaly minor football manager and he also thanked him for his work – Ryan is a warm favourite to be the new U20 manager.

A committee of board chairman, Tom Parlon, secretary, Brendan Minnock; treasurer, Frank Fitzpatrick; former chairman, Michael Duignan and operations manager, John Hackett was appointed to seek the new managers.
