MONDAY'S big Leinster U20 Hurling Championship quarter-final between Offaly and Dublin has been switched from Parnell Park in Dublin to the recently upgraded St Conleth's Park in Newbridge.
The switch was announced on Wednesday following unfortunate damage to the pitch at Parnell Park.
Brown patches could be seen on the pitch during Dublin's Leinster Senior Hurling Championship win over Wexford amid speculation that chemicals had been spilt maliciously on it.
It resulted in the Leinster U20 football final between Meath and Louth being moved from the venue to Newbridge and now the bank holiday Monday fixture between Offaly and Dublin has followed suit – a change that was widely anticipated after the football final was moved.
It will still have a 3pm throw in. It is very unfortunate on Dublin to lose home advantage in this game and while the venue won't be a big factor, Newbridge is a lot more convenient for Offaly supporters.

It is a huge knockout game as a fancied Offaly side bid to get their season really motoring – this general squad won Leinster minor three years ago and Offaly are defending the Leinster and All-Ireland U20 championships this year
