Around 70 Offaly Schools to Receive Over €342K for Computer Equipment

Around 70 schools in Offaly will receive a total of €342,843 funding for computer equipment. 

This grant is worth in excess of €4,100 for a 100-student school and close to €13,000 for a 500 pupil school at primary level.

At post-primary level, the grant is worth around €18,000 for a 500 student school and €33,000 for a 1,000 student school.

The news has been welcomed by Fine Gael Deputy Marcella Corcoran Kennedy who stated that it will make a “huge difference” to local schools.

Minister for Education and Skills, Richard Bruton has said that the funding to schools is to be issued in the coming weeks.
