Offaly ICMSA recently held its AGM in Tullamore
THE annual general meeting of Offaly ICMSA - held in the Tullamore Court Hotel this week - saw Ronan Feighery of Shannonbridge elected to succeed Rahan’s Michael Guinan, from Rahan, as Chairperson.
The local Executive (branch) of the specialist dairy farmer organisation is considered highly influential within the overall 14,000-strong association and Offaly farmers have long occupied leadership positions disproportionate to the number of dairy farmers in the Faithful County.
Mr Guinan is a prime example having served previously as Chairperson of the National Beef Committee, while Pat O’Brien of Corndarragh is the current Chairperson of the Farm Business Committee.
The county’s farmers have long been regarded as some of the technically best and most committed in the State and Mr Feighery has indicated that he is both aware of that ICMSA heritage and intends building on it.
