During the meeting, Tony McCormack TD was asked about the issue of increased Garda presence in Edenderry. In response, Deputy McCormack confirmed he would seek a meeting with the Minister for Justice, Jim O’Callaghan, to address local concerns and push for greater Garda visibility in the town.
Deputy McCormack was also questioned on the status of the Edenderry Waste Water Treatment Plant. He informed members that he has been in contact with Uisce Éireann and is actively working to identify an alternative solution that would facilitate further housing development in the area, recognising the urgent need for progress on this key local infrastructure.
CDC Chairperson Ronan Feighery noted the optimistic and engaged tone of the meeting, saying, “There’s a real sense of unity and momentum among our members here. I’m confident this new committee will play a central role in strengthening Fianna Fáil’s presence and impact in Edenderry.”
With renewed leadership and a clear focus on local issues, Offaly Fianna Fáil looks forward to continuing its work in the community and advocating for the needs of Edenderry and its residents.
