Offaly businesses share their experiences and challenges with Government Minister

Minister Emer Higgins engages businesses in Tullamore as part of National SME Roadshow

THE Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Offaly and Offaly County Council welcomed Minister Emer Higgins TD to Tullamore this week as part of her national SME Roadshow.

The event provided a valuable platform for local businesses to share their experiences, challenges, and insights directly with the Minister.

Among the attendees were several prominent local enterprises, including:

• Decontamination Technical Services Ltd – represented by Dermot Smyth, recent winner of

the Regional Award at the 2025 National Enterprise Awards

• C & S Sheds – represented by Alan Spollen

• TeknaBuild – represented by Roger Smyth

• Anser Procurement – represented by Declan McDonnell and Sharon Byrne

• Ronan Berry, presenter of Midlands 103’s Taking Care of Business show, also participated in the discussion

Minister Higgins expressed her appreciation for the strong turnout and the high level of engagement from the business community.

She emphasized the importance of hearing directly from micro and small enterprises, whose voices are vital in shaping effective national policy.

The feedback gathered during the session was both insightful and constructive, highlighting the resilience and innovation of local businesses.

Events like this underscore the importance of collaboration between government and enterprise in shaping policy and driving sustainable economic growth.
