Colaiste Naomh Cormac participating in the Bridge to Careers programme.
During the spring months, TY students at Colaiste Naomh Cormac Kilcormac collaborated with EAL students on the project Bridge to Careers.
This initiative pairs EAL and TY students to conduct interviews with local professionals, aiming to strengthen EAL students’ community integration and language skills while providing TY students with valuable insights into various career paths for their future decisions.
As part of this project, the students interviewed Mr Frank O’Sullivan, the owner of Centra in Kilcormac. Mr O’Sullivan shared his experiences of managing his own business, discussed potential challenges young people might face in this sphere, and offered valuable advice.
They also spoke with Yvonne Martyn at Martyn’s Pharmacy, who provided inspiring insights on pursuing one’s dreams and becoming a true professional. The students left the interviews feeling enthusiastic and filled with positive impressions.
