The podcaster has published two #1 bestsellers
BLINDBOY has announced that he will be publishing a collection of short stories this year.
The Limerick native and former member of comedy hip-hop duo The Rubberbandits, Blindboy Boatclub will share Topographia Hibernuca on November 16.
Announcing the news on Twitter, the podcaster, who has been described as “the essential voice for the Irish condition in the 21st century,” commented: “Big News. My new collection of Short Stories comes out this November. It’s called Topographia Hibernuca. I am unbelievably excited to share this work with ye, and thank you to @HodderBooks for giving me this opportunity.”
Hailed as a visionary new short story collection, Topographia Hibernica, unravels the knotted threads of humanity, nature and colonisation while touching on an array of topics, from the comic to the macabre.
From a donkey stuffed into the back of a Fiat Punto to jackdaws pecking brains out through the roof of a confessional box, the collection comes from the twisted world of a brilliant maverick mind.
Blindboy said: 'I'm very humbled to be able to share this short story collection. It was a wonderful opportunity to turn my curiosity to themes that have been consuming me for the past few years
Harriet Poland, Editorial Director at Coronet, has acquired World rights to Topographia Hibernica and one other book by Blindboyboatclub. Signed copies will also be available.
One of Ireland’s foremost artistic voices, Blindboyboatclub has published two No 1 bestsellers, The Gospel According to Blindboy and Boulevard Wren.
Called "a cultural phenomenon" by the New York Times, The Blindboy Podcast reaches over one million listeners monthly, and the New York Times called it "a cultural phenomenon."
A national podcast tour will tie in with the launch of his collection in November.
Harriet Poland says: 'If you've been listening to The Blindboy Podcast in all its mercurial splendour and mind-bending insight, you'll be as excited about this collection as we all are.
