Celebrating the Grand Canal's story in Offaly for Heritage Week

'An Evening with the Heritage Boats Assoc.' in Esker Arts, Tullamore

AN evening celebrating the Grand Canal will take place in Esker Arts, Tullamore, this Friday, August 22, from 7pm to 9pm.

Entitled "'An Evening with the Heritage Boats Association", it will feature a series of talks and a presentation to HBA stalwarts, Richard and Mary Swain.

Philip D. Mayne will speak on the restoration of the motor tug "The Rosbeg" while Tullamore photographer, Paul Moore, will reflect on photographing the canal.

Tullamore native and Banagher based historian, James Scully will introduce the Kilbeggan line through video.

Admission is free and all are welcome.
