The case was heard at last week's sitting of Tullamore District Court
AN Edenderry man, Luke Keegan, 26 Downshire Place, was charged with a number of public order offences during the June 4 sitting of Tullamore District Court.
The defending solicitor Marc Bairead told the court his 28 year old client “would say that it was he who contacted the Gardaí on the date in question because, he would say, he had been the subject of an attack.
"There was blood on his face as a result. He may have been concussed because of the attack because he has a difficulty in recalling what happened.
"He wants to apologise to the Guards and the Court for taking up their time with this case.”
The incident happened at Downshire Apartments, Edenderry on June 13, 2024.
Mr Keegan was charged with threatening behaviour, intoxication in a public place and obstructing a peace officer.
Judge Andrew Cody remanded on continuing bail to September 17 for a Probation Welfare Report and a Community Service Assessment.
