Offaly woman threw glass at drinking partner causing serious laceration

Judge Cody adjourns case at Tullamore District Court for Victim Impact Report

AN Edenderry woman pleaded guilty to assault causing harm during the May 14 sitting of Tullamore Court.

Chloe McBride, 63 Father Paul Street, Edenderry committed the offence on December 26 last at Apartment 344, JKL Street, Edenderry.

Sgt Brendan Kearns told the court that the injured party, who was a woman, and Ms McBride were drinking together when, at 5am an argument broke out between them during which McBride threw a glass at the injured party causing a laceration.

The Sergeant said the defendant had two previous convictions for minor road traffic matters.

The defending solicitor Patrick Martin said Ms McBride is 27 years of age, has a child and is expecting another child.

Judge Andrew Cody said this was “a serious laceration.” He adjourned the case and asked for a Victim Impact Report at the next sitting.
