During April to honour St Cronan (28th April is his feastday) Dimma's Books in the St Vincent De Paul shop on Church Street offered a very generous gift to people seeking refuge in Ireland.

Roscrea's very special boutique bookstore was created by famed Roscrea historian, author and bibliophile, George Cunningham, who is known for his compassion towards people seeking refuge in Ireland and offered free books, in honour of the Monk Dimma and Roscrea's St Cronan.

Roscrea SVP Conference President, Con Cunningham, accompanied by his brother George who manages the boutique bookshop, presented some rare prayer books in the Slavic and Ukrainian languages to the residents in the former Sacred Heart Convent on Convent Hill.

The bookstore is named after the monk Dimma, who created the stunning Book of Dimma prayerbook which is kept in Trinity College in Dublin. Reproductions of the Book of Dimma can be seen in Damer House at Roscrea Castle.

For his Feastday on April 28th Dimma Books presented daily prayer books in their own language to Ukrainians and boxes of children's books. Any refugee or those seeking international protection in Roscrea received a free book courtesy of Cronan and Dimma.
