Latest Met Eireann weather forecast for the weekend is not looking great
After previously forecasting sunnier and drier weather for Ireland this weekend, the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for the weekend is not looking great at all.
According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast, temperatures are set to stay below 20 degrees through Friday, Saturday and Sunday with showers, overcast conditions, rain and strengthening winds forecast.
According to Met Eireann, Thursday will start out mostly cloudy with a few patches of drizzle. Some limited bright or sunny intervals will break though in the afternoon, along with a few well scattered showers, mainly over the southern half of the country at first but the sunny spells look likely to extend elsewhere in the evening. Top temperatures of 14 to 19 degrees in light to moderate northerly breezes.
Thursday evening will be cloudy with outbreaks of patchy rain or drizzle a times. Some dry spells will develop across the north overnight but it will stay rather overcast. Lows of 8 to 10 degrees in a northerly breeze.
According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland, Friday will bring cloudy periods and isolated sunny spells mostly but there will be a few showers during the afternoon and evening although most areas should stay largely dry. Highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees in a light northerly breeze.
Friday night will be cloudy but mostly dry with a few lingering showers clearing away from coastal areas later in the night. The light northerly breeze will continue with lowest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees.
Met Eireann is forecasting an unsettled start to the weekend on Saturday with generally overcast conditions and a few showers developing in the afternoon and evening. Winds will generally fall light with highest temperatures of 16 to 19 degrees.
Met Eireann says that current model indications suggest a full return to unsettled weather on Sunday with plenty of cloud and rain moving in across southern counties with strengthening winds and highs again of around 16 to 19 degrees.
