RTE's Claire Byrne and Professor Humphrey O'Connor of Offaly Hospice
RTE star Claire Byrne patron of Offaly Hospice and the Midlands Hospice Building fund with Professor Humphrey O'Connor are delighted to announce that the 2023 Offaly Hospice Calendar is available for sale at €5 in various outlets throughout the county.
Professor O'Connor said, it's hard to believe 2023 is just around the corner! 2022 has been such an important year for all of us.
In September, An Taoiseach announced €20 million to fund the building and commissioning of the
Midlands Regional Hospice.
This is a wonderful and much needed gesture and a recognition of how important it is to have excellent Palliative Care available locally, at all levels for whoever needs it.
The Midlands Regional Hospice has become a reality and no longer a pipedream.
Offaly Hospice will continue to work with the HSE to ensure a First Class Regional Hospice is put in place in a timely and cost effective manner.
They will also strive to ensure Palliative Care in the community and in the home, which is so important, is maintained and improved. A sincere thanks to all of you for your continued generous support in so many different ways.
A word of thanks also to Claire Byrne (RTE) who is an excellent patron and great to have her on board.
Michael Carroll, a brilliant unassuming volunteer and photographer, is the “brains” behind the annual calendar.
For 2023 Michael has opted to focus on our changing environment, climate and well-being.
This topic is timely, very important and has such an impact on our health and quality of life. Congratulations Michael, well done indeed.
You can find the calendar on sale in the Offaly Hospice charity Shop, Cloonan's Hardware, Scally's Centra, Tormey's Butchers, Midland Books, Robbins Book Store, Fox Shop Kilbride St. O'Sullivan Centra Kilcormac.
