Karen Neary celebrates with family and friends at the parkrun

Over 40 participants braved the wind last Saturday for the 160th Mountlucas Parkrun

Karen Neary, a Mountlucas regular, celebrated her 100th parkrun and she was joined by family and friends to mark the occasion. Karen is a regular volunteer at Mountlucas as is her son Sam.

Mary Dunne baked the now customary celebration cake.

In the run up to International Women's Day on the 8th March, at the Mountlucas Parkrun next Saturday the 5th March, the ladies are getting the day off from volunteering to allow them partake in and enjoy the Parkrun. An all-male volunteer team could be a high risk but it is one that Mountlucas Parkrun is willing to take!

The organisers are encouraging everybody, men and women, to wear pink on the day, to add to the celebration; it should make for an enjoyable morning. If you have never been to a Parkrun, then maybe next Saturday is the opportunity to go along and see what it is all about

Mountlucas Parkrun is based at Mountlucas Wind farm outside Daingean., see www.parkrun.ie/mountlucas to register and for more details.
