The soccer tournament will raise much-needed funds for the Tullamore school
A five-a-side soccer tournament to raise funds for the Offaly School of Special Education will take place on Saturday March 12, commencing at 2pm at Leah Victoria Park, Tullamore.
International boxing star Grainne Walsh has kindly agreed to present the trophies and is lending her support on the day.
There will also be a raffle on the day for two premium tickets for Ireland v Lithuania on March 29 next.
“We are reaching out to the local community to help us with our fundraising efforts and any prize or monies you can donate or sponsor we would be hugely appreciative of this,” said a spokesperson for the Tullamore school.
The children in the school benefit immensely from sensory and social skills activities. With this in mind organisers would like to raise sufficient funds so they can update and maintain the sensory room, with such things as bubble tubes, swings, projectors, lights, ball pool and a waterbed.
As a special school social skills and outings in the community are an important part of the students daily activities and this can incur significant cost over the year.
