Course for parents in advance of children's Confirmation

AS part of an initiative started by the Meath Diocese, Tullamore Parish will launch a new programme for parents of children due to receive the sacrament of Confirmation on January 31, 2026.

The course is designed to help answer some of the following questions: Do you have

questions about your faith? Do your children ask questions about their faith you would like to be able to answer with more confidence?

Called the Sycamore course, it is a short four-hour course over four weeks for the parents of children preparing for Confirmation this year.

It also offers an opportunity to meet other parents, explore beliefs, share ideas and think about questions that really matter.

Successfully run across the globe since 2014, the Sycamore Programme is an introductory course on the Christian faith and its relevance for life today.

For more information parents of Confirmation candidates can call the parish centre (057-9321587), or log on to www.tullamoreparish.ie

The sessions are open to all parents of confirmation classes in Tullamore Parish. It is being led by some members of the Parish Team (parents and teachers together with Fr Damian Budau).

Previous participants have described a real sense of community, a spirit of friendship, and some great conversation. Sycamore sessions are completely free to attend and all are very welcome.
