Tullamore College students record real-time footage of a dramatic trial from Shakespearian play

Podcasting season has arrived in Ms. Doheny’s Third Year English class in Tullamore College, where students are bringing Shakespeare to life in an exciting and modern way.

As part of their study of The Merchant of Venice, students are recording mini ‘Crime Podcasts’, offering real-time coverage of the dramatic trial between Shylock and Antonio.

This creative approach not only helps students revise the plot but also deepens their personal engagement with the play’s characters, themes, and moral dilemmas.

By blending literary analysis with digital storytelling, this project makes Shakespeare’s work more accessible, interactive, and relevant for today’s learners.
