Award winning photographer Tom O'Hanlon facilitates introduction to photography workshops across Offaly
THE Capturing Offaly project Is a community-based initiative, with the aim of celebrating Offaly's culture and beauty through photography.
The project was coordinated by Offaly Local Development Company Social Inclusion Team members Claire Hall and Stephanie Hill.
Local photographer Tom O'Hanlon was welcomed onto the project, facilitating introduction to photography workshops across the county.
With a focus on smartphone photography, these workshops were accessible to everyone, encouraging people of all ages and abilities to get involved.
By holding workshops throughout the county, this project promoted not only artistic expression, but also strengthened individual’s connection to their surroundings, showcasing Offaly’s landscapes, environment and heritage through the lens of its residents.
Participants who were featured in the calendar were brought together to celebrate its launch in Tullamore Library and were presented with framed copies of their submissions, as an acknowledgment of their contribution.
This project was funded through the SICAP programme. For more information on Offaly Local Development Company, visit offalyldc.ie or @offalylocaldevelopmentcompany on social media.
