OFFALY County Council is excited to unveil a cashless parking solution for Tullamore, in partnership with Payzone, Ireland’s leading consumer payments network.

The new cashless parking service is designed to enhance the convenience of parking for residents and visitors alike in the most hassle-free way possible by providing a range of payment options. Cathaoirleach of Offaly County Council Cllr Tony McCormack outlined: “This service is set to improve the overall parking experience for the public in Offaly while also working to promote sustainable urban mobility. The solution has been launched in Tullamore, with plans to expand to more towns soon.”

Payzone’s solution aims to streamline the parking process, making it faster and more efficient for everyone. Whether you're a local resident, a daily commuter, or a visitor exploring Tullamore, paying for parking has never been easier. With a variety of payment methods available, this service caters to all customer preferences.Motorists visiting Tullamore now have a choice of payment options and flexibility to use with or without a registered account.

Mobile app: The easiest way to pay. Download the Payzone app on Android or iOS.Online: Pay directly on payzoneparking.ie using your debit or credit card.In-store: Conveniently pay at any local Payzone retail outlet.

Speaking about the launch, Ciara Donovan, Product Manager at Payzone Ireland, expressed her enthusiasm about the new location: "We are thrilled to partner with Offaly County Council to bring our cashless parking solution to Tullamore, and make parking as convenient and efficient as possible. At Payzone our goal is to make every day easier.”

Cllr. Frank Moran, Cathaoirleach of Tullamore Municipal District commented: “This new service is very convenient for motorists – using the PayZone app, it will be easier to find and pay for parking and help to deliver greater efficiencies for the Council.”

The introduction of the cashless parking solution is a significant step towards enhancing the visitor experience in Tullamore. Tourists will benefit from the ease of finding and paying for parking, allowing them more time to explore local attractions, dine in charming eateries, and shop in unique stores.

This initiative is expected to boost local tourism, contributing to the vibrancy and economic growth of the area.

Payzone operates across multiple counties in Ireland, making it incredibly convenient for visitors traveling from other parts of the country. With the same mobile app, they can effortlessly pay for on-street public parking no matter where they are.

In line with Offaly County Council's commitment to sustainability, the new cashless parking system is an eco-friendly initiative – it reduces the need for paper tickets and associated printing.

The mobile and online payment options also encourage the use of digital platforms, aligning with broader goals of digital transformation of local government services.

The new cashless parking service is now available in all Council operated parking spaces in Tullamore. Parking payments can still be made with cash using the on-street parking meters.
