Offaly County councillor and General Election candidate, John Clendennen, says he is looking forward to the Fine Gael party think-in which will take place in Tullamore over the next two days.
The party think-in is an annual event for Oireachtas members and General Election candidates to share ideas in advance of the new Dáil term.
“I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone from most recently selected candidates to An Taoiseach to Tullamore to discuss a range of important national topics over the next two days”, stated Cllr Clendennen.
“It is also a real opportunity to showcase the best of our capital town to national politicians, and particularly cabinet ministers.
"In light of some of the challenges we face locally it will be an opportunity for open and constructive discussion, particularly following the recent announcement at Cardinal Health, the need for a greater commitment to foreign direct investment in our capital town to leverage further job creation and support for local community facilities and volunteer groups”, stated Cllr Clendennen.
“Fine Gael in government have committed to Offaly in a many ways in recent years, and I particularly welcome Minister Heather Humphreys who will officially open the new Community Centre in Killeigh on Wednesday afternoon”, continued Cllr Clendennen.
“As a General Election candidate I’ll be maximizing the opportunity to showcase Tullamore town and the entire county of Offaly, and most importantly finding the time for some canvassing too considering the General Election is less than six months away”, concluded Cllr Clendennen
