Clara town is about to experience a regeneration like no other using what it has. That is the firm conviction in the town at the moment.

A summer Soiree on July 25 in the STAR, River St. Clara at 7pm will see the launch of the Clara Town First Team.

All are welcome to come view the 15 projects contained in Clara’s Town Centre First Plan, sample the summer refreshments, and enjoy music with, Clara local, Jo-Jo Bracken, accompanied by John Byrne on saxophone.

Clara Town Centre First Team is a representation of all the community groups in Clara. The team came together under the guidance of Clara’s Town Regeneration Officer, with the assistance of the Clara Heritage Society, and the support of Clara’s Tidy Towns, Chamber of Commerce, sporting communities, Family Resource Centre, educational centres, religious communities, local County Councillors, and the Clara Community Council.

The Town Centre First Team have been working together to help ensure that Clara’s Town Centre First Plan, developed by Urban Agency, and funded by Offaly County Council, reflects the character and history of Clara.

The Town Centre First Plan is designed to make use of Clara’s built industrial heritage, its natural resources and its strategic location, to regenerate Clara, making it an even better place for the community, for commerce, and for visitors.

The remit for the Town Centre First Team is to work in tandem with Offaly County Council and the people of Clara, to bring to fruition the implementation of the 15 projects contained within the Plan.

''Children and young people are very welcome to the launch. Clara’s Town Centre First Plan, using what we've got, is their future. If we all continue to work together it will be a bright future for them and for Clara,'' say the team.
