Offaly U-20 hurling stars among the winners at ploughing presentation night

Offaly Ploughing Association held their awards night in recent weeks to honour those who had won respective classes across a number of matches over the year.

The winners across the competitions will now go on to represent Offaly in this years All Ireland Ploughing Championships.
There was a great attendance on the night with a large number of awards presented on the night.
Presentations were made by Niall Grennan on behalf of main sponsor, John Grennan and Sons and Michael Mahon, recently elected President of the National Ploughing Association.
Among the many presentations on the night, All Ireland U-20 Hurling Stars, James Mahon and Barry Egan picked up presentations on the night also.
The latter competed in this year’s Novice competition and the aforementioned Mahon was the U-21 winner and will go on to wear the County colours yet again, this time at the National Ploughing Championships where he will be hoping to add another All Ireland medal to his name.
A presentation was made to site owners also for 2024, Bernard and Deirdre Heavey, whom the Chairperson thanked for their generosity in providing the use of the site for the Offaly Ploughing Championships.
