Teams in four categories from the Offaly Pool Association travel to Killarney to take part in the All-Ireland finals this week.

The association is fielding three men's teams, two ladies teams, an over 60s and one junior U-23 team in the finals which kick off on Wednesday, May 22.
The teams, which are attached to Cue Academy on Henry Street in Tullamore, feature players from the town together with surrounding parts of Offaly and neighbouring counties.
“We have a great track record in the finals,” said Angela Briggs, a talented pool player who is on the Irish ladies team which play in the world championships in Blackpool in June next month
Joining Angela on the team are four other Offaly players – Jannette Jackson, Mary Devine, Gemma Masterson and Mary Duffy Lowbridge, their Manager Michael Scally who also plays for Offaly Pool and is currently Offaly Champion and former European Team Champion. The sixth player to join the Offaly ladies is Sandra Bryan from Wexford. Both Sandra and Mary Duffy were on last year's Irish ladies team and they won the World Shootout Championships in Morocco.
Also from Offaly Pool going to the world championship are Mark Clarke and Adam Wynne, representing Ireland in their chosen field.
The team are sponsored by Boyle Sports but are on the look-out for more support from businesses. Those interested can contact Angela at 085 1913748.
Offaly Pool Association is sponsored by the Goalpost sports pub in Tullamore and enjoys a great reputation on the national stage.
The Offaly ladies have won the All-Ireland Shield three years in a row and got close to winning the Cup last year.
“We hope to do the double this year,” a confident Angela Briggs told the Tribune this week.
