Pullough performed strongly in the Pride of Place competition
Pullough village was represented at the all island Pride of Place Awards in The Clayton Hotel, Dublin recently joining fellow county collegues Mucklagh and Geashill at the annual award ceremony nominated by Offaly County Council for Community Resilience.
In August on judging day, thirteen groups done themselves proud by showcasing what they do in their area, telling their stories and plans for the future. The centre was bustling with chat and laughter, with a fabulous slideshow on display of images of Pullough, its places and people followed by a presentation about all thats good in Pullough, where they were and where they are going.
Pullough finished national runner up in the competition bringing home more silverware. Over the past number of years Pullough have been acknowledged and recognised for their achievements and awards and the future looks good too with their new five year community plan to be launched shortly.
Pullough Development Association Chairperson Martin Buckley thanked Offaly County Council and Offaly Local Development Company for their support over the past few year and congratulated Mucklagh and Geashill on their successes.
Summarising the efforts made, Mr Buckley said "a big thanks to all involved in making our village a better place to visit and live as we have succeeded in highlighting the locals love of their pride of place, Pullough."
