Fylde stun promotion-chasing Forest Green to aid survival bid

Managerless Fylde boosted their National League survival hopes as they stunningly beat promotion-chasing Forest Green 3-0 at Mill Farm.

The Coasters took the lead in the 25th minute when Will Hugill finished from close range after a Gavin Massey shot had been pushed against the post by Fabian Mrozek.

Harry Davis doubled the lead just past the hour mark following good work from Nick Haughton, who then added the third with a 71st-minute strike.

Ending a run of three successive losses, Fylde, working under interim boss David Longwell after Kevin Phillips’ departure in February, move up two places to 21st, a point adrift of safety, while Steve Cotterill’s Forest Green remain third.
