Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a fatal road traffic collision which occurred on the R458, Rathfolan, Newmarket on Fergus, county Clare on Friday March 27, 2026.
Gardaí and emergency services responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision which occurred shortly before 10:50pm.

A female driver (aged in her 60s) was conveyed to University Hospital Limerick for treatment of serious injuries. She was pronounced deceased yesterday evening, Tuesday March 31, 2026.
The Coroner has been notified and a post-mortem examination will be arranged.
A female passenger (aged in her 70s) was conveyed to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A technical examination of the scene was conducted by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. The road has since reopened.
Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision to come forward.

Road users with camera footage (including dash-cam) who were travelling on the R458, near Rathfollan, Newmarket on Fergus, Co. Clare on Friday 27th March 2026 between 10:30pm and 11:00pm are asked to make this footage available to investigating Gardaí.
