Trains and public transport are expected to be "extremely busy" over the coming weekend due to a number of national events including the All-Ireland Football final, Irish Rail has warned.
Iarnród Éireann says it will operate an extensive programme of additional DARTs to/from the Bray Air Display throughout both days of 29th and 30th July, as well as additional services to/from Celtic v Wolves at Aviva (29th July) and Dublin v Kerry for the All-Ireland Football Final in Croke Park on July 30.
Additional DARTs will operate from both Dublin city centre - starting from Connolly Station - and Greystones to/from Bray, with the option of additional services starting from Dun Laoghaire if required.
No bikes will be allowed on Dart and commuter services in anticipation of the crowds using the services.
Furthermore, significant additional staffing will be deployed across DART stations to assist customers, and manage capacity on services, according to Iarnród Éireann.
Trains are expected to be extremely busy, and customers are advised to:
Travel as early as possible to the Bray Air Display and sporting fixtures, and well in advance of event start times
Saturday 29th July: There will be extremely high demand on DARTs due to both events. Those travelling to the Bray Air Display are advised to have commenced their DART journey by 11:00hrs, as southbound demand in the run-up to the kick-off at the Aviva (14:00hrs) is expected to reach capacity
Customers not travelling to events are advised to travel away from event times wherever possible
Allow additional time for your journey as additional services and high numbers disembarking will result in some delays
Take water and stay hydrated – alcohol is not permitted on board
Follow the direction of Iarnród Éireann staff, event organisers and Gardaí at all times.
Bikes will not be permitted on-board DART and Commuter services on these dates.
Service information will be continuously updated to customers both in stations and on board, and via the Iarnród Éireann website www.irishrail.ie and Twitter account @irishrail which will be updated with the latest details.
Please visit the Bray Air Display website for more event details.
