Local councillors are urging the people of North Tipperary to shop local during the lead up to Christmas Day.
A number of North Tipp councillors have urged people to please support your own and shop local this Christmas.
Cllr Michael O'Meara told the December meeting of Nenagh Municipal District that it's very important that people shop local.
He said he's proud of North Tipp's towns and villages and the way the look. “Our towns and villages are very attractive, especially during the Christmas period. However, it could be improved. With this in mind I want to see the Council's painting and enhancement scheme to come back next year for the villages as well as the towns.”
Cllr Rocky McGrath also urged people to shop local. “You should support your own,” he remarked. “Don't hightail it off to Limerick or the big cities. There are some great Christmas markets in North Tipperary as well. There's some great shopping here as well.”
