Scoil Iosef Nofa in Roscrea has received the green light for a major extension of it's facilities.
The Board of Management for Corville NS lodged plans with Tipperary County Council on July 21 last year and this week their planning request was granted.
Roscrea based Councillor Michael Smith told the Tribune: "I am delighted to announce that Tipperary County Council has granted Scoil Iosef Naofa, Corville planning permission for a major extention.
"These ambitious new facilites will include two Special Education Needs bases, a central activities space, a multi sensory room and additional parking area. Works will commence in the coming months", he said.
The extension sees the construction of single storey extension, incorporating two Special Education Needs (SEN) bases; two small safe places associated with the class bases; a central activities space; multi-sensory room and essentials such as an office space, toilets and shower area, staff toilets, storage room and circulation area.
The plans also include an additional parking area, the temporary installation of a prefab and a hard/soft play area with boundary treatment and all associated site works and services, including the installation of a rising main sewage connection to public foul sewer.
