BIRR Christmas Lights committee are very busy putting the finishing touches to their Christmas lights display for 2024, which will be officially switched on on Saturday November 30th.

They are returning to Green St, again this year for an afternoon of family fun which includes face painting, Jeca the Clown, Santa's train, Magic show and puppet show. Of course no Christmas Lights afternoon would be complete without a visit to Santa. Santa and Mrs Claus will be in their grotto from 2pm to 5.30pm. Admission to Green Street is €10 per person. Refreshments not included in the entrance fee. Please note there will be no card facilities at the entrance points to Green St.

Their sensory Santa, which was very popular last year, is returning again this year from 10am to 5pm in the Marian Hall. Booking essential for the sensory Santa, cost €10 per child.

The organisers are delighted this year to have the Sing It Community Choir and Rise & Shine join them in Emmet Square before Santa and his mischievous elves arrive to switch on the Christmas Lights.

Follow them on their social media pages Birr Christmas Lights Group and Birr Tidy Towns to see what Santa's elves are getting up to around this beautiful town.
