Yellow wind warning for Donegal
Met Eireann has issued Status Orange and Yellow Weather Warnings for parts of Ireland for this afternoon and this evening.
The most severe warning is a Status Orange Wind Warning for Donegal that warns that late this afternoon and this evening, strong to gale force west to northwest winds with severe gusts of up to 130 km/hr. The warning is in place from 4pm until 7pm today.
There is also a Status Yellow Wind Warning for Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo which warns that this afternoon and evening, very strong west to northwest winds will gust to speeds up to 110 km/hr with significantly higher gusts at times in Co. Donegal in the late afternoon and evening, especially in coastal areas. The warning is in effect until 8pm this evening.
There is also a Status Yellow Wind Warning for Galway, Mayo which warns of strong west to northwest winds with gusts of up to 110 km /hr. That warning is now in place and remains in place until 6pm
