Woman trying to trace long-lost relations in Offaly

Can some of our readers help a lady who is trying to trace family members?

Siobhan Kenny (nee Ryan) is anxious to find out what happened to three members of her family.

"My grandfather Patrick Ryan was born in 1875 in Edenderry Co. Offaly. His mother's name was Margaret Keogh and his father's name was Michael Ryan," explains Siobhan.

They had 4 children;

Bernard Ryan, born 1871

Michael Ryan, born 1873

Patrick  Ryan, born 1875 died 1953 ( My Grandfather)

Esther Ryan, born 1878 died 17th March 1878

Margaret Ryan Nee Keogh (mother), died 16th March 1878 in Edenderry.

Michael Ryan (father), died 22nd March 1878 in Edenderry workhouse

Siobhan has a number of documents including the marriage cert for her parents, birth certs for four children, christening certs for four children, death certs for one child (Esther) and death certs for the parents Michael and Margaret.

Her question is and what she is hoping someone may be able to help her with, is, "What happened to the three remaining children Bernard, Michael and especially my grandfather Patrick after their parents died.

"I found Patrick in the 1901 census living in Dublin as a boarder in the Kelly's household. He went on to marry Margaret Connell and live in Emerald Cottages Dublin. They had seven children, one of which was my father Micheal."
