An elderly woman told Naas District Court her husband is trying to take her home.
The woman sought protection under family law legislation and the man was not present or represented for the hearing.
The man is not originally from Ireland.
She also claimed that he wants her to go into a nursing home and said the home was owned by her parents and her grandparents before that.
“He wants to get me into an elderly people's home,” she told Judge Desmond Zaidan.
The judge granted her an interim protection order and adjourned the case for a fuller hearing to November 24.
