CRINKILL National School in Birr had the distinct honour of welcoming Carmel Browne, President of the Irish National Teachers' Organisation (INTO) to their school last week.

Ms Browne, a native of Roosky, Co. Roscommon, and the first teacher from Longford to hold the INTO presidency, has been a dedicated advocate for primary education since beginning her teaching career in 1980.

During her visit, Ms Browne engaged with both students and staff, observing classroom activities and discussing educational initiatives with Principal Sandra Nolan. The visit provided an opportunity to showcase the school's commitment to fostering a safe, caring, and nurturing environment, as highlighted on their website.

Ms Browne commended the school's holistic approach to child development and its dedication to encouraging a positive learning atmosphere. She emphasised the importance of such environments in nurturing the academic, social, and emotional growth of students.
