'Blasphemy' - Shane Lowry baffled by reporter who has never heard of Oasis

Shane Lowry was left speechless when an interviewer in the US admitted she had never heard of Oasis after the Manchester band reformed and announced new gigs this week.

There was huge excitement around the world when Noel and Liam Gallagher appeared to end their 15-year feud to announce a new tour in 2025, including two dates in Croke Park next August.

Offaly golfer Shane Lowry is clearly a fan and was even playing the band in his car on the way to the golf course on Wednesday before he was interviewed by FanDuel TV.

The reporter asked him which celebrity he'd most like to meet and grab a drink with, to which Shane replied, "I'd love to have a drink with Oasis."

The reporter looked at him blankly before Shane asked, "You know Oasis are back together." He was in disbelief that she had never even heard of the Wonderwall stars.

He later joked that not knowing them was "blasphemy" before the interviewer carried on, red-faced.
