Gardaí close in on eight vehicles linked to gang involved in Offaly burglaries
Gardaí have identified eight vehicles linked to a gang involved in a spate of burglaries in Offaly.
That's according to gardaí in Tipperary who have been monitoring the activity of a gang known to operate in Tipperary, Offaly, Clare and Cork.
The news came as a rise in burglaries in Tipperary was reported at the county's May Joint Policing Committee (JPC) meeting. Tipperary Chief Superintendent Aileen Magner presented a breakdown of the most up to date crime statistics in the Clare-Tipperary jurisdiction.
Chief Superintendent Magner warned that incidents have returned to the high levels seen pre-Covid 19.
He explained that whilst crime figures were high in Tipperary, many of this year’s incidents were connected with criminal gangs from areas outside of Tipperary, and this includes one group also targeting homes in Offaly.

In concluding her presentation, Chief Superintendent Aileen Magner assured the county council that significant work was being done to combat these crimes.
