Garda warning as people in Offaly 'don't know how to use roundabouts'
Gardaí in Laois and Offaly have issued advice to drivers after noticing a lot of people in both counties are unable to use roundabouts correctly.
The An Garda Síochana Laois-Offaly Facebook page shared a video first issued by the Garda training college in Templemore reminding people how to use them correctly in terms on which lane to be in and signals to use.
They accompanied the post with the caption: "Drivers of Laois-Offaly please pay attention to this video as unfortunately far too many don't know how to use roundabouts around the two counties."
The video features Sgt Andy Morrison of the driver training school, Templemore Garda College, as he takes viewers through the importance of the correct and safe use of roundabouts to maintain traffic flow and avoid collisions.
The Garda College Templemore, who shared the video, said: "Once again we thank Andy for taking the time out of his schedule and we hope that this video will be of benefit to all road users.
"Perhaps if you know someone currently taking driving lessons or studying for the driving theory test point them in the direction of Sgt Morrison's videos to start their driving experience off on the right foot."
