Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland for the coming week

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland, the weather is set to change this week with wet and windy weather on the way through the week.

The latest forecast however is for daytime temperatures to remain in double digits for the majority of the week before getting cooler from Thursday.

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast for Ireland, Monday will be largely dry with hazy sunny spells and just isolated showers. Becoming cloudier during the afternoon with a few patches of light rain or drizzle developing in the west and southwest in the late evening. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees in light to moderate west to southwest winds, becoming southerly and freshening in the west by evening.

Dry for most on Monday night with a mix of cloud and clear spells and just a few patches of light rain or drizzle. Later in the night, a band of more persistent rain will push into the northwest. Lowest temperatures of 7 to 9 degrees with moderate to fresh and gusty southwesterly winds, strong at times on northwestern coasts.

According to Met Eireann, it will turn wet for most in the morning on Tuesday as rain in the northwest extends across much of the country, reaching the southeast in the early afternoon. Breezy as well with fresh and gusty southwesterly winds. Drier, brighter and colder conditions along with easing winds will follow from the northwest, reaching most areas by the evening though rain will persist for southern areas. Highest temperatures of 10 to 13 degrees, mildest in the southeast.

On Tuesday night, rain will return from the southwest, turning heavy in places as it extends to all areas through the night. Lowest temperatures of 5 to 9 degrees generally. Southerly winds will increase fresh to strong.

Widespread rain at first on Wednesday, clearing eastwards through the morning. Becoming drier for a time before sunshine and showers of longer spells of rain push in from the west during the afternoon. Breezy with fresh to strong and gusty southwesterly winds. Highest temperatures of 10 to 14 degrees before turning colder from the northwest. Further showers or spells of rain will continue to move in from the west overnight. Colder than of late with temperatures falling to between 1 and 5 degrees.

According to the latest Met Eireann weather forecast, Thursday will be much cooler with sunshine and showers or longer spells of rain, most persistent over the western half of the country, possibly turning wintry at times. Highest temperatures of 5 to 8 degrees in moderate to fresh southwest winds.

Friday and next weekend will be unsettled and breezy at times. A showery day is expected for Friday with spells of rain moving in from the west during the weekend. Highest temperatures generally ranging from 7 to 10 degrees. Some localised frosts possible during the nights.
