Offaly native, James Crombie of Inpho Photography, picked up an award for 3rd Place in the Sports Action category for his image entitled, ‘Clash of the Ash’.
THE Press Photographers Association of Ireland is delighted to announce that the AIB Press Photographer of the Year Award 2023 exhibition will be visiting Offaly in August as part of the Birr Vintage Week & Arts Festival which runs from Friday August 4th to Saturday, August 12th 2023. The exhibition, which features the award-winning and highly commended imagery from the 45th annual awards competition, will be on display in Oxmantown Model School, Birr, during the festival celebrations.
The AIB Press Photographer of the Year Awards 2023, which recognise excellence in Irish press photography, were presented at a special ceremony in Dublin earlier this year by An Tánaiste Micheál Martin TD across 10 distinct categories – News, Daily Life & People, Sports Action, Sports Feature, Portrait, Nature & the Environment, Politics, Arts & Entertainment, Reportage and Multimedia in addition to the newly launched AIB Sustainability Award.
Mark Condren of the Irish Independent/Sunday Independent was awarded the AIB Press Photographer of the Year 2023 title, his sixth time winning this title. Offaly native, James Crombie of Inpho Photography, picked up an award for 3rd Place in the Sports Action category for his image entitled, ‘Clash of the Ash’.
David Branigan, President of the Press Photographers Association of Ireland, commented, “We are delighted that the AIB Press Photographer of the Year Award exhibition will be visiting Birr as part of this year’s Vintage Week & Arts Festival.
