A copper cylinder and copper piping were stolen recently from a vacant house in Clashroe, Kinnitty.

The crime occurred between Sunday, June 22 and Thursday, June 26 when the criminals entered the house and removed the items.

Copper has a high resale value as scrap metal. Where exactly the copper ends up is unclear.

The Gardaí advise any metal dealers or scrap yard owners approached to buy significant amounts of copper cable or copper in unusual circumstances to get in contact with the Gardaí immediately.
