A woman reported a serious incident which happened at the canal in Edenderry recently
GARDAI have confirmed that they are aware of an incident that occurred in Edenderry, on June 24 and are carrying out enquiries.
The incident is in relation to a woman who said she was walking with her baby by the canal in Edenderry when a man of foreign origin approached her.
The man asked her for the time and the woman said she didn't have the time. He then asked her for money, again she replied no.
When she tried to continue with her walk he grabbed the handle of her buggy and began to pull it from her. She started pushing him and hitting out at him and shouting for help.
He took off and ran down a lane on the canal towards Derrybeg/Tyrell's Lane.
The description the woman gave was of a man with stubble, wearing a black top, black tracksuit bottoms and white runners with blue stripes.
She said she notified the gardai who scouted the areas. She asked if anyone saw him to report it to the Gardai.
Gardai say they are continuing with their enquiries.
