Who will be crowned on May 6?
On Saturday evening, May 6, ladies from all over the county will gather in Tullamore to compete to become the 2017 Offaly Rose, following the footsteps of 2016 Rose, Emma Kirwan. This year's batch of Roses will gather at the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore, for a night full of entertainment, glamour and above all, great fun as we discover who will be crowned this year's Offaly Rose and will go forward to represent the county in Tralee at the Rose of Tralee International Festival.
This year, the selection night will be hosted and sponsored by the Bridge House Hotel, Tullamore. Roses will appear on stage to speak with MC Brendan Hennessy, and will have the opportunity to do a party piece of their choice if they so wish. The Offaly Rose will walk away with an array of prizes. She will receive an selection of Tipperary Crystal and of course the coveted Offaly Rose Sash and represent Offaly in the dome in Tralee in August.
Offaly Rose Co-ordinator, Natalie Mc Cabe, invites all interested girls between the ages of 18 and 27 to participate. Natalie commented: "The search continues for the 2017 Offaly Rose. If you or anyone you know would like to apply, all they need to do is complete the relevant form on our website, www.roseoftralee.ie, then simply click on the 'Apply' button.
Those who take part need to prepare themselves the experience of a lifetime and will make great friends along the way," Natalie said. The current Rose of Tralee, Maggie McEldowney also commented:
"The friendships you make during the Festival will last a lifetime. Roses and Rose Escorts have been meeting up all over Ireland and it goes to show you the love, friendship, and respect for one another continues long after the Rose of Tralee Festival. I'm missing my Roses and Rose Escorts a little extra today."
So get down to Tullamore on May 6 to see who will represent Offaly in Tralee this Summer.
