Person airlifted to hospital after serious Offaly road crash
Gardai have informed the Offaly Express that one person has been airlifted to hospital following a serious multi-vehicle crash on the M7.
Gardaí attended the collision which occurred northbound between J22 Roscrea and J23 Moneygall on the Offaly/Tipperary border shortly before 4pm this evening.
Multiple ambulance and garda vehicles, as well as an Air Corps helicopter attended the scene as traffic came to a standstill.
"One occupant of a vehicle was airlifted to hospital with non life threatening injuries," a Garda source told us.
The road remains closed but gardaí have said they "hope to have it reopened shortly.
Diversions are in place with traffic diverting off at J22.
