ALERT: Met Eireann upgrades Warnings for Storm Amy with rare Red Warning issued
Met Éireann has upgrades Wind Warnings for Storm Amy to Orange for parts of Ireland with a Status Red Marine Warning also issued.
The Red Strom Warning is for sea areas from Loop Head to Rossan Point from 2pm on Friday until 8pm on Friday. Met Éireann says that southwest to west winds may reach violent storm force 11 at times.
Met Éireann has upgraded the Wind Warning for Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo to Status Orange. It comes into effect at 2pm on Friday and remains in place until 10pm on Friday.
Met Éireann is warning that there could be near gale force to gale force and very gusty southwest to west winds which could lead to fallen trees, damage to power lines and possible power outages, very difficult travelling conditions and possible wave overtopping

A Status Yellow Wind Warning for all of Ireland comes into place at noon on Friday and remains in place until midnight on Saturday.
Met Éireann is warning that there could be strong to near gale force and gusty southwesterly winds which could lead to difficult travelling conditions, debris, loose objects displaced with some fallen trees possible.
Another Status Yellow Wind and Rain Warning has been issued for Donegal from midnight on Saturday until noon on Saturday.
Ahead of Strom Amy there are three Weather Warnings in place for parts of Ireland for today.
There is a Status Orange Rain warning for Kerry until 8pm today that warns that flooding is expected with very difficult travelling conditions
There is also a Status Yellow Thunderstorm Warning for Connacht until 2pm today and a Status Yellow Rain Warning for Cavan, Donegal, Munster, Connacht and Longford. It warns that localised flooding is possible with difficult travelling conditions.
