An Irish auction house is set to host one of its biggest sales of the year this week when Sheppards Auction House in Durrow, Co Laois stages its Legacy of the Big House auction. The three-day sale this Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday offers over 1,500 important international works from a prominent West Cork collection.

Among the highlights are a 1984 Rolls Royce Silver Spirit with 40,000 miles on the clock and an 18K white and yellow gold emerald and diamond bangle expected to fetch €50,000 to €80,000, alongside a host of furniture.
The sale takes place 10am each morning starting today (Tuesday)with the auction scheduled to finish at 2pm on Thursday.
