Offaly forecaster fundraising to build and independent weather forecast service for Ireland
An Offaly weather forecaster has started a fundraising campaign to help him set up Ireland's first independent weather forecasting service.
Cathal Nolan has launched a fundraising page to help him set up the service.
The Go Fund Me page can be accessed by clicking here and so far their has been a great response with over €4,000 raised.
It says that Ireland's Weather Channel has delivered forecasts to the general public for just over a decade, providing honest, accurate forecasts to a wide audience and helping you plan for the uncertainty Irish weather can throw at us from time to time.
It continues, "please consider supporting Ireland’s Weather Channel so that we can purchase the required equipment and build a platform that will deliver higher quality forecasts free of charge to you the public, all at the touch of a button."
In a personal message, Cathal adds, "It’s been my dream to become a weather forecaster, ever since I was 5 years old. That dream still burns within me except now I wish to build Ireland’s first Independent forecast service. With your support we can make this dream a reality."
Speaking to Midlands 103, Cathal said the funding would go towards establishing his own website where he can issue weather warnings as an independent organisation.
