RIP: 'A gentle soul' - Tributes pour in for beloved grandfather in Offaly

Tony will be laid to rest this evening

Tributes have been paid to the late Tony (Anthony) Corcoran, Clonminch Road, Tullamore who passed away peacefully in the wonderful care of the staff in Riada House, Tullamore.

He was laid to rest on Friday morning in St Patrick's Cemetery, Killeigh. Tony is pre-deceased by his parents Pat-Joe and Anna and his brother Camillus.

His RIP.ie death notices says Tony will be "sadly missed by his loving wife Teresa and sons Niall and Shane, daughters in law Michelle and Edel, grandchildren Michael, Sarah, Amy, Aoife, Elle and Tony, brother Pat, sisters Marie and Carmel, brothers in law, sisters in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends."

Tributes have been paid with one friend sayin, "Sincere sympathies to Tony’s wife and family on his sad passing I always remember good banter with Tony during my school days around Tullamore and also great memories of Pat during our days in Five Star Patrick St .May his gentle soul Rest in Peace."

Another tribute said, "My sincere sympathy to Teresa Niall Shane Michelle Edel and the extended Corcoran family on the death of your beloved Tony RIP.I will remember Tony as a caring lovely smiling gentleman who was always willing to help. He loved to share a joke and tell a funny story. It was a privilege to know u Tony and I always enjoyed our debates on the Laois/Offaly GAA games I know you are now our Angel in HEAVEN Ar De go raibh a anam dhilis".
